In or around 1949 I lived on Mt. Vernon St. right off Homewood Ave. with my aunt Mary as our house on McPherson Blvd. had some fire damage. At that time I was in the 7th or 8th grade at Holy Rosary. I remember her back yard had a big apple tree in it and we ate till we were sick. Great memories.
