BREAKING NEWS: Shooting on Lang Ave.

Zone 5 Commander Jason Lando issued the following alert via email at 9:16 tonight:


Within the past 30 mins, Zone 5 officers responded to a report of a man shot in the 700 block of N. Lang Avenue in Homewood. The victim has been taken to the hospital. Responding officers received information that the shooters ran into a structure in the 700 block of N. Lang Avenue immediately following the shooting. Detectives from Major Crimes along with PGH SWAT are currently responding to the location to assist Zone 5. Streets in the area are blocked off so that officers can maintain a safe perimeter around the scene. Please avoid the area if possible. More information to follow as it becomes available...


I just drove by, and the area is still heavily barricaded, so both motorists and pedestrians should still avoid the 700 block of N. Lang.
